Hilma af Klint

1862–1944

Hilma af Klint was a Swedish painter and one of the earliest pioneers of abstract art. Her work explored spirituality, duality, geometry, and unseen forces long before abstraction was widely recognized. She viewed her paintings as transmissions rather than compositions, guided by symbolism and metaphysical inquiry.

Hilma was inspired by Hilma af Klint's  Swan series and its mirrored black and white forms, this set explores duality. Light and shadow, unity and division. Stark contrast shapes the structure, while subtle blue accents drawn from surrounding compositions act as a quiet interruption within the symmetry.
